RAFAEL CURTONI

Rafael Pedro Curtoni is a graduate in Anthropological Sciences (archaeological orientation) from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (University of Buenos Aires; UBA), Master of Arts in Archeology from the Institute of Archeology (University College London), and PhD in Natural Sciences from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum (National University of La Plata; UNLP). He is currently an Independent Researcher of CONICET, Professor of the subject Archaeological Theory II of the Faculty of Social Sciences (National University of Central Buenos Aires; UNCPBA) and professor of the stable staff of the Doctorate in Archeology. He was in different university management positions for more than 15 years and he directs the Observatory of the Indigenous and Peasant People’s Rights at the UNCPBA. He has been a guest professor in postgraduate courses at the National Universities of Córdoba, Buenos Aires and San Luis; the National University of Caldas and University of Los Andes in Colombia and the Autonomous University of Mexico. He conducts anthropological and archaeological research in San Luis and La Pampa analyzing human occupations of space from the perspective of landscape anthropology. Likewise, he is interested in critical approaches to the different heritage processes, developing studies and accompaniment, in the light of decolonial thought, of different claims made by various indigenous groups in central Argentina, in particular the Rankülche nation people. He has more than eighty national and international scientific publications including articles, books and chapters.
